bigboz.... do you think that if your stretching with the pmma would it thin out as the penis gets longer? also woud the pmma be oulled from the base because your basically pulling out your inner penis which is not covered with pmma. I ask because i wanted to wait until i reached desired length but im getting antsy and cant wait no more and wnt it now...lol

I believe I read in this thread that PMMA can prevent turtling/ retraction when flaccid; is this correct? If so to what degree?

New1inch, I haven't had the procedure yet but I really don't think you need to worry about that. It would be nice if the pmma gave a little extra flaccid length by keeping it stretched, but I'm certainly not banking on it. But I guess it is possible that it may reduce turtling. I have noticed that a lot of my turtling comes from the shaft skin tightening up, so a layer of pmma below it may well minimize that and would be a very welcome side benefit.

welcome back E.P. as you can see I've decided to check in once in awhile again too, (I just gave my one year update). moregirth- I would be willing to bet that in time PMMA will give flaccid length gains, from what I've read it is is somewhat heavy, like the implant, and after a few months it really starts to drop down and pull out some more flaccid length. petey- great story, you already seem to have gotten some solid advice from this great forum, take care. @mustang- Good advice brother! I agree. good luck all

@kevin276, In reference to PMMA you said: . Its certainly interesting but seems so un-predictable as far as the risks associated with any of the procedures... I would disagree, but I know there is no clear-cut answer to which procedure is the most/least predictable. PMMA, as reported by those who have had it, at the moment has shown a 100% success rate in the short term. And while long-term reports are far & few, there has been little evidence/reports anywhere on the web that would suggest it is anymore dangerous or ineffective 5, 10, 15 years down the road. Does this mean I believe it will remain at 100%? No, but if it were above 85%, I'd consider that satisfactory, above 90% excellent, and above 95% the Holy Grail. Only time will tell. In contrast, the Elist implant has multiple reports of retraction, infection, and removal. I'm not sure a single PMMA patient has reported length loss, let alone infection or migration as a direct result of PMMA. So as for unpredictability, the silicone implant is by far more unpredictable. I will concede, however, that "aesthetic outcome" is very unpredictable with PMMA, but that's an entirely different thing than "risks" you referred to. I will also concede that ALL girth enhancement techniques that don't use your own tissue (FFT, DFG) all possess "unpredictable unknowns" when considering their longevity, aesthetics, effectiveness, and safety when considering the long-term (10-15 years +).

And I should clarify, what I meant by the unpredictability of the aesthetics of PMMA is specifically in relation to a "ring" that forms near the glans for some patients. It appears as thicker than the rest of the shaft and is typically ring-like in appearance. This isn't the case for everyone, but there have been some reports of it. It is thought that immediate post-op stretching may help alleviate and/or prevent this, but no one is for sure. Also, the ring itself can be tolerated depending on your preference/tolerance for aesthetics and isn't necessarily a bad thing for everyone.

New1inch i think it will take a great deal of time for it to look thinner at the base if the penis from stretching

2 things. Firstly the ring. Now that dr c is using a lower concentration near the glans this problem may be resolved. I stress maybe , we need more reports.
Secondly, I am amazed, given reports of severe complications with the elist implant, that anyone would consider it !

I agree...Just the idea that someone who has done the proper research and Is aware of the complication risk, not to mention the aesthetic(s) issues...and price...would consider it as a viable choice is boggling...And frankly, this is the major reason I am suspicious of anybody entertaining the thought of getting it... If I had had the option of PMMA or the implant before i had the implant and had the info that is available now, it would never have been a question....PMMA looks very promising indeed.

The mentioned drawback of PMMA, being the long term unpredictability, is infact the major reason for considering it. The sad truth is that in terms of PE, long term unpredictability is about as positive as it gets. The reason I say this is, is that all the rival alternatives are totally predictable. So far about 10 people have had PMMA, with no real problems. Now imagine if in the same space of time 10 of our members had between them a mixture of all the other procedures. It's utterly predictable but that at least 3 or 4 of them would already be regretting the surgery and be looking at reconstructive options. So the fact we can't predict what will happen with PMMA, gives it a big advantage over the other procedures, as we can predict an unacceptably high percentage of those will end in disaster. Unless the data we've got on PMMA complications is very wrong, there is every reason to believe that the complication rate should be much lower than with all other methods and particuarly the silicone implant.
Essentially what we are doing with PMMA on this messageboard is the most detailed study on penis enlargement ever seen. Those who have had or or going to get PMMA are part of an experiment and it is so important they post before and after photos and tell us about the amount and concentration they had put it. Despite all the reports posted, in reallity there hasn't been a single piece of significantly useful information in any of them. We are still in exactly the same position we were a few months ago when the basic PMMA hypothesis was championed - ie that thought there are complication rates with PMMA, in theory they are low enough to argue that complicaitons should be far lower than with any form of surgical PE. Until we find a report that tells us the long term complication rates of PMMA injected with canula's, below the dermis and in moderate amounts, then we really wont know anything. I think we all know that report is never going to be found, as it doesn't exist. Therefore we have to create our own study. This is why it's so important those lurking who are considering PMMA actually join the forum and post their results. Hopefully over the next year we will be able to follow the progress of upto around 50 guys who have had PMMA. So far, in terms of PE, there have been a number of studies that are just a few pages long and each patient is nothing more than a statistic. This board has given us the opportunity to study a PE method like never before as we can read in depth personal accounts and see photo progress over an extended period of time.

I agree with Hoddle, and to take it a step further (which IDM has recommended in the past), it is highly advisable those taking pictures take them in the most accurate ways possible so that when compile data in the future, we have less "questionable data" to throw into the mix. Empirical data is best obtained with information is accurate and thorough. While I know not everyone will be able to submit photos in this respect (or submit photos at all), I hope all future patients strongly consider it.
This is most definitely the most thorough discussion and comprehensive "study," undertaken by any person or group of people that I know of with respect to PMMA application of the penis. And in all honesty, the information here could be just as useful to bioplasty techniques that extend beyond the penis. I'm happy to be a part of that.
I think that is also why the SURGICAL RESOURCES forum will be especially useful in the future. Anytime you have a source/link that you share here, please re-link it in the appropriate threads over at the other forum. This way members can access a "library of resources" in one page (or two) rather than skimming over what will inevitably over 100 pages of this thread.
As for now, I still believe it is still premature to draw any conclusions on the PMMA matter, since after all no other PE technique has been as refreshingly successful and it almost warrants a "too good to be true" feel. But given the (known) science and the current short-term results, I think it's the first time I've been optimistic in a while...and this is coming from a true skeptic. But again, it may take at least multiple 1-year confirmations to begin to assess the "near future" longevity of this method. Who knows if this forum will be lucky to assess a 5 year success rate??

@kevin all new(er) members,
I know it may seem tedious, but reviewing virtually every page (in order) of this thread is essential if one were to seriously consider PMMA. Within in it are debates, photos, experiences, and links to sites that are both pro-pmma and anti/skeptical-pmma.
To think, the previous record holder for number of pages for a PhalloBoards thread was like at 8...I guess we can see this topic is trending lol
