Hey there, new1inch. I can't comment on whether the belladerm would have been better, but you will obtain more girth with Dr. Elist's implant. Barring complications from the implant, which can be brutal, the major downside is the penis feels firm in the flaccid state, and therefore not entirely natural. From what I've been reading, the belladerm feels natural in both states. I do question if the penis feels soft in the erect state with belladerm as more sheets are used. Perhaps kingpin, who posted earlier in this thread and has shared photographs, can comment.
The best thing to do is what I didn't -- research thoroughly. Case in point, had I known turkey neck was a common issue with both surgical and natural penis enhancement, I would have addressed the issue when I met with Dr. Elist and, if possible, had it taken care of at the same time. There have been posts questioning the safety of silicone being used in the penis, why you shouldn't even bother with phalloplasty, how old methods are improving, etc., but at the end of the day, you have to decide what will be right for you in terms of risk level and outcome. Keep in mind that a lot of the accounts, whether good or bad, won't necessarily be indicative of your results. For example, several people have mentioned penis retraction after having Dr. Elist's implant both inserted and removed. However, others, such as myself and another member who had the implant removed twice, did not have the same issues.
If you do decide to go under the knife, I think being 23 years of age will allow you to bounce back in no time. Not to mention, you're still young enough to really enjoy it. In terms of paying for the procedure, you can either save the total amount, finance it on credit (e.g., CareCredit) and pay monthly, or do both (i.e., save some and finance the balance). I can't comment on what you should or shouldn't do because I don't know your financial circumstance.
A former member advised having enough funds available to cover expenses should complications arise. Dr. Elist's fee for both lengthing and girth surgery is $10,500. If you don't need lengthing, it's a grand or two cheaper. Good luck!

Stalemango, Thanks for the guidance, as it turns out I do have three dots that I can see and everything is lined up. What I thought was miss alignment is actually the whole has penis rotated, possibly from the swelling. When I start to get an erection everything begins to straighten. Everything is going well. Great news, ck62498!

A member, who has also had surgery with Dr. James Elist, sent me a private message commenting on what he felt was a wedge appearance in, I believe, the photograph showing my erection from the right. I'd like to keep the discussion going, so I am omitting his name and initial e-mail, but am posting my response.

Also, for those of you who are interested in Dr. Elist's procedure, I posted a video of him performing the surgery in the Surgical Methods forum.

Hey Stale,
Not the most common question I'm about to ask. I'm a physically active guy, and also practice martial arts. What damage do you think could happen from a punch/kick to the groin? I would be wearing a cup, of course, but even a cup doesn't provide 100% protection.
Also, I just watched the youtube video. I have a hard time believing the procedure is just making an incision at the base and stuffing the implant in. I'd imagine there's much more going on and he's just presenting a really neat and tidy abbreviated presentation of the procedure.
One thing I don't like is the idea of cutting the implant during the procedure. That to me seems like it could increase the chances of a bacterial biofilm/infection down the road greatly. I sent him an email a while back discussing the possibility of custom fit implants, using a mold of ones penis. He was open to the idea. Apparently a while later a member over at MNS had talked about Elist discussing that with him as well.

I'm concerned with the concept of what if a guy gets this procedure done, then decides he wants to try another type of non surgical enlargement? Seems like there's the potential to cause the implant to dislodge or cause other issues. From the little I know of alloderm type materials, the body actually integrates it into the system per se. With silicone, it remains a foreign body. I'm also curious to what the long term result will be with this procedure...will the body ever reject the silicone?

''With great power comes great responsibility''. True words indeed. I've (so far) been temporarily as large as 7-7.25'' in girth after pumping/clamping (erect on the shaft NOT ''base''). My natural girth is currently 6 3/8'' on the shaft. Bigger girth definitely requires more foreplay. Just having a bigger than average penis does not mean you are now a ''god'' in the bedroom. You must learn to use your penis. Most men never do average sized or not. The male tendency is indeed, to be selfish, and only concerned with your own orgasm....and frustrations if you can't ''fit'' into your partner. From my own experience as I have grown over the years from a 5'' erect girth (again shaft girth), to where I am now, women can in fact handle any girth I have been...even the temporary 7''+. It comes down to foreplay and having them READY for it. Get them warmed up thoroughly to include an orgasm or two through other means FIRST and they have little if any issues.

Also, for those of you who are interested in Dr. Elist's procedure, I posted a video of him performing the surgery in the Surgical Methods forum. Very interesting video (it could be longer though). I agree with you- nice job with stitching. However, it looks that it's easy to displace the implant during insertion/wrapping + this part with cutting it during the surgery ?!?! Is it attached somehow to the pubic bone? In the video it was simply inserted, moved up and down and then skin was stitched, that's it, no attachment to the surrounding tissue.

What damage do you think could happen from a punch/kick to the groin? Since the implant is pretty firm, it'd be cool if the puncher or kicker broke their hand or leg. I'm sure the crowd would be astounded if that happened during a tournament. In all seriousness, stormy, I don't know. I definitely wouldn't want to be hit in my groin with or without an implant. I just gave my penis a slap and I'd hate for that feeling to be multiplied. A custom fit implant seems like a great idea. I was concerned that he never asked to see my penis erect prior to surgery. I wonder if he has ever miscalculated how much implant is needed since some men are really growers. ''With great power comes great responsibility''. True words indeed. I've (so far) been temporarily as large as 7-7.25'' in girth after pumping/clamping (erect on the shaft NOT ''base''). My natural girth is currently 6 3/8'' on the shaft. I was never really big on foreplay, but I do see that's definitely going to have to change. I don't want to fall into the category that women have of men with big penises, but don't know how to use them. So far, it seems that's where I'm headed. I'm hoping the video is just as stormy said and only a snap shot of what's going on. If not, that could explain why patients have issues in the glans area. Also, the implant on my right side is perfect, but the implant on the left could have been placed better, as I can feel the ridge when erect.

the video has been edited for sure. It does not show any stitching nor does it show how he inserts the implant in. I think he is trying to protect his procedure details.
Some asked if a body may reject an implant later on. In most cases, if the body does NOT reject it right away and the body heals with it, the most likely the body will not reject it especially after forming the capsule made of scar tissue.
My implant has settled down quite well in over six months and so far no major problems apart from the length loss of over an inch and a little pain at the glans area...
If the Dr does not fix it to my satisfaction, I may go with Belladerm only If I am assured that my original lenght will be back....

During the consultation, I specifically asked if the capsule was actually scar tissue and Dr. Elist said it was not. The question that follows is, "what is it?" Either I don't remember what he said it was, or I didn't ask. I don't quite remember.
I also had pain in my glans area. I didn't have it during an erection or sex, but instead after I had climaxed repeatedly in a short period of time. I can't pinpoint when that pain stopped, though.
In regards to trying belladerm if things don't work out, definitely keep us informed. You've been around long enough to know that doctors will assure you the world until they're blue in the face to get your business, and it seems that there isn't any guarantee of anything with phalloplasty.

Looks great Stalemango; you ought to be proud. Why isn't your dick tapered with the implant?

Hey stale, hope all is well. Haven't heard from ya in a bit, and I hope you're keeping yourself busy. You may have noticed MNS forums are down (at least temporarily).
