patrick, if Dr. Soloman was professional and kind, why did you not go back to him for the 2nd time?

I don't have a question for him but I do have a request of you - Be sure to ask to both see and feel the new implant. If you feel comfortable enough, even ask him if you're permitted to take a photo of it (assuming you have a cellphone with decent resolution camera) for "personal records." I can't imagine that being an issue if he has a patent on it. Actually I do have a question - WHAT is the PHYSIOLOGICAL MECHANISM behind POST-OP RETRACTION I think we all have ideas but I'd like to hear the doctor say it himself.

I am almost sure anyone who goes in to see the Dr for an implant review, will decide to have it done. It is too tempting and the sell is very good. One will hear only the good stuff never the bad stuff. I still think it is a good "option" but it has a long way to go.

CCW,
I wish to stay in close contact with you. Maybe even discuss offline...Only because I hate to type...
I posted on this is site just now somewhere (check it out). Anyway I have some issues with the work I recieved and would like to offer the following of things I would do different.\
1) Take a list of questions...Have the doctor answer all of them...Screw the fact that he rushes and paints a great picture...If you ask questions that his answer is much different than the "proof in the pudding" you might consider his "validity. 2) Take notes...treat it like a business meeting... 3) Feel the implant...Ask about it... 4) Ask about the process...the insertion, the anchoring, method of retraction...etc. know the mechanics.. 5) Ask about the caring process...ask why some creams over others.. 6) Ask him if he custom fits...(Why my implant on the right sleeve is 1/2" behind the head and very noticeable when errect...while the right side is very nice...is beyond me...) again, the process..ask him if he erects you in surgery and fits it.... 7) Pin him down - Ask him of pitfalls and negative possibilities...What is the recourse he may offer...Rework...Costs....his free fixes (yeah right)... 8) This might sound crazy...If I ever have mine reworked I will premark my penis and take pics from all views and let him know what my target/suggested implant pattern to provide...Yes, he is the doc but crap this job I have looks like a 5th grader cut the impants shape....And made an F grade...Too freakin short now I have to pay for a rework...Not good...Especially having to go through the risks again.. 9) Ask him what you can lose..length? Why? Remember always ask why... 10) Does the new implant close more of the bottom of the penis (eurethra)? 11) Why all the changes to the impant? 12) For me ask him if he has beveled the edges so not 90 degrees and noticeable to the touch and site. 13) Paperwork...What the freak did I sign? Stupid me.... I wonder if he will let you read the paperwork on the visit before the surgery instead of rushing you to sign on the day of surgery. Heck, get the papers and leave the office...go back after lunch to return...
If this guy has a problem with any of this...Don't trust your Corvette for a Lamborghinni (Penis wise)... How much more will you gain?... The vette can beat the Lambo with the right driver...
Penis Surgery - High Risk Female Genital Resizing - I imagine low risk... You can talk to any woman about anything if approached correctly...
I will post pics later...this is my first night (morning on this site)..

Hey CCW,
Biglove hit the proverbial nail on the head with his questions list.
I'd like to elaborate on some of his questions.
1.) Have him show you the old implant material vs the new implant material.
2.) Have him explain the old implantation technique vs the new technique and what makes the new one better. Have him be very specific about what changes he made and why.
3.) Let him know you read the forums, have been in touch with his past patients and you are fully aware of the drawbacks. Ask him to explain why those particular drawbacks happen and what he is doing to fix them. In particular, loss of length, edge protrusion.
4.) In regards to custom fitting, ask him if he would be okay with you making a silicone mold of your erect penis and using that to make a custom fit. It obviously would be quite unprofessional for him to handle your actual erect penis, so a custom mold would be the next best thing. I would also suggest asking if he would consider the ratio flaccid size to erect size into consideration when making the custom fit.
5.) Ask him how often he puts in the implant without stitching and how his patients have done with that technique. Marknmau on this board is the only guy who has given an in depth account of having it without stitching and things have gone quite well for him.
6.) Do not let him rush you! I've heard he does that quite often; rushes through questions. I don't have first hand experience but if you feel that is the case, ask if you can come back later(if time allows). You are paying a lot of money to have him operate on a very important part of your body. There is no reason he should rush questioning.
I'm in a rush at the moment, but I'll have more questions for yah very soon.

biglove and stormy: i got my list together and will ask all the questions and take notes. I have made arrangements to arrive at his office after business hours so as not to be rushed. He has agreed to give me as much time as i want. I am going to record our conversation to make sure i don't miss anything!!!!!!!!

Very simply, if the doctor refutes/denies, and minimizes all of the risks and negative accounts that we now KNOW to be true, this should raise a MAJOR RED FLAG for you!
When I spoke w/him, I purposely played naïve, (I gave him an opportunity to show what he was made of...for better or worse). I'll never forget the moment that I asked him, "how long does the implant last"? He responded immediately with a single word response: "lifetime". Elist failed my test-I literally got chills at that moment and thought to myself, this is a very dangerous man. No implant truly lasts a lifetime, unless one gets it later in life and dies before the implant breaks down. Even women who get breast implants very young , at some point down the road, they need explantation, and new implants.
Thinking LONG TERM, something very few want to do, Elist in all likelyhood will not be around in 20 years. Silicone tends to degrade over time. In the event his patients who had the implant needed it removed for this reason, they will need to think ahead and consider whatever options are available at that time. I'm sure phalloplasty will be much more common in 20 years, hopefully men will have better options available in the future.

ccwbar: First of all I agree with the prior post's. Second, you may have read my post's, but if you go ahead with the implant you might want to consider foregoing the internal stitching, mainly because it's one less thing to go wrong in my opinion. He will probably tell you that it will make it look like you have an uncut penis, but that only lasts for a few months (unfortunately in my view) the implant pulls the whole dick down after time, not just the skin, if you want more detail you can PM me. Good luck!
