Someone had suggested a photo-only section. At first I figured if you wanted to upload something you could at the General Phalloplasty Discussion message board but I realized that a lot of issues with uploading photos is a sense of discomfort about having our penises available for the world to see...literally. Because it isn't just members (who are technically anonymous), but also "guest" users who can view the forum as well.
I thought that I could create a place that only members can view, and perhaps even require a password so that only "approved/veteran" members could view. Just an idea, would like to get some input.

I would go ahead and make a private photo section, but would encourage members to post blurred photographs in the regular section for both members and guests to see. I shied away from posting photographs on the other forum because while I am pleased with the manner in which my surgery turned out, I knew my penis wasn't going to win any aesthetic awards.
Now, I don't care. I already had the surgery and when I read posts from men asking which doctor to go to, I realize that the more information that's out there, especially photographs, both good and bad, the more men will be able to make their decisions. No one method is right for everybody, but whatever method is chosen, the individual should have an idea of how his penis will look afterward.

I went ahead and made a password-protected sub-forum at the Patient Support Group message board.
Only moderators and members who have uploaded their own photos have password access. If you don't mind the public seeing your pictures, than feel free to post them at the regular General Phalloplasty Discussion or Patient Support Group message board(s).

Thanks, but for now, let's leave them in the general section. I think I put enough effort into making them untraceable to me.

Hm Why should pictures only be visible for members who have uploaded their own photos. If you haven't gotten any surgery, how can you then upload any relevant photos? Also, why should moderators have access, i know you for instance don't got any pictures to show.
In many ways it sounds fair, that people can decide to upload pictures, where only a few can watch them. On the other side I don't like the idea, to join this new forum, where information should be flowing free and nothing is undisclosed, and then find out that i have restricted access to parts of the board.

Viduka, thanks for your inquiry. First off, by default I have access to all the forums on this site, so the "why can the moderator's have access?" extends to them as well. In other words, there are perks with position. I should note that all moderators have received their status on conditions that have established their "familiar-icy" with the world of phalloplasty. Secondly, the Photo-Uploads forum was made for individuals who preferred a greater deal of privacy. Ultimately, it is not full-proof. The decision to allow other "photo-uploaders" access the forum was done to establish a criteria of fairness on who could and couldn't access it. Again, it isn't full proof, however I believe it was necessary to create a password-restricted forum for those who demand their photos be a bit more safeguarded. You would be surprised, but there were numerous occasions at MNS where members refused to submit their photos even though they insisted they had surgical augmentation done. The "Photo-Uploads" message board was designed to give them an added incentive to post anyways. This is in no way a censorship on "free flowing" information, since the uploader himself has no obligation to show you anything. It's his decision, not ours, we simply provide the vessel for information to be posted. We have had a few members create threads at the General Phalloplasty Discussion board full of pictures they didn't mind being so public. In all likelihood, the vast majority of photos will be on public forums and free flowing for all to see (at the decision of the uploader, of course). I do appreciate your input and inquiry. Current figures on this poll (although not a significant turnout) indicate a support for the password-restricted forum. In the event there was a significant bump in votes against it, I'd strongly consider removing the "Photo Uploads" sub forum found at the Patient Support Group board. Welcome aboard Viduka!

hi i think this is kind of a bad idea. i really want to get the surgery but i need to know and see how things went. that the reason i come to this site. if their is no photos then theirs no reason for me and friends to visit this website. some of us are far from taking our own pics because of financial reasons and cant afford the surgery right away. im in my early twenties not makin much but saving. but for the time being i would like to physically see how peoples progress is going so i can decide which doctor to choose. AINT THAT THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THIS WEBSITE? with pictures on the main board you jus have people saying things with no proof of the truth. am i correct?

i think i got your message wrong. if its members only and not just anyone i agree. but if you mean you have to have a few stars under your username to see the photos i disagree.

The stars under your name wont determine whether you can see it or not. A member is a member.
However, if its password restricted, the criteria becomes more specific.

Evil, I agree. However recently I have taken down the Photo-Only gallery by request of Proboards. I hope after some back-and-forth with their TOS Team I can get that sorted out and back up again.

@evil thanks for your support. at this time i ask everyone to refrain from contacting Proboards since it could complicate things more than resolve it. i am working with them and i may be able to get things back to normal. ill do my best in the meantime, thanks for your concern though!

I also like the idea of a photo only section with a description etc. Being a member should be enough to access it...
