One advantage of Dr. Reed over Dr. Rosenthal is that Dr. Reed can enlarge the glans (for an extra fee) with belladerm/alloderm while Dr. Rosenthal enlarges the glans with injections of hyaluronic acid, which only provides temporary gains (~6 months to a 1 year). That's not a definitive 'advantage' as the procedures aren't strictly comparable. The alloderm/belladerm can't be directly implanted in the glans because it's not ordinary skin: there's no dermis, no epidermis. Reed's procedure alloderm/belladerm technique implants filler behind the glans to increase its flare, but it doesn't increase spongosium volume. It's a bit more invasive than hyaluronic acid injection. However Reed's web site says he currently offers Juvéderm (hyaluronic acid) as well because "the results are more impressive, but Juvéderm may only last for 6 months and touch ups may be required." So I suppose you could say Reed's advantage is he offers either choice!

An advanatge with going to Rosenthal instead of Reed is that Rosenthal only makes a single incision near the base. Reed makes one at the head and one at the base. The incision at the head of the penis is where infection and other problems have occured more frequently...
The single incision also makes healing alot quicker and easier!!

Guys, I want to thank everyone for their input regarding Reed and Rosenthal, especially kingpin since he had surgery with apparently very good results. I am still thinking of going to either Reed or Rosenthal to get for lengthening and then stretch vigorously for a year or so, and then either go back to either one or wait and see if Dr. Runels has perfected his PE treatment. Please continue to weigh in on these two PE surgeons. I think we have to thank our Admin, S.O., for allowing people to post and give their opinions on these two PE surgeons without the censorship that goes on at MNS ! Cheers to S.O. ;D

hey sheldon... do you know of anyone who recieved the glans enlargement? also i think one of you said that he can make the base look wider.. i think my penis head is what makes my penis look smaller than it reallt is.. im 5x5 but my head is the skinniest part of my penis.. and if im planning on getting pmma i definately need to get the glan surgery.

My friend had a question about patient example #2 and Dr. Reed said that he will return for glans enhancement. Rosenthal does use hyaluronic acid for his glans enhancement procedure and Reed uses both hyaluronic acid (Juvéderm) and as tuckmeunder mentioned "Reed's procedure alloderm/belladerm technique implants filler behind the glans to increase its flare, but it doesn't increase spongosium volume. It's a bit more invasive than hyaluronic acid injection." Rheinschild used a similar technique. As kingpin pointed out, Rosenthal uses one incision vs. two for Reed but probably decreases the risk for infection. As I mentioned before I am thinking about Reed or Rosenthal for length, then stretching vigorously for a year or so then getting the girth OR going to Runels for his treatment. I'm still in the saving for this and seeing how Runels' procedure works out. Get input from everyone on this thread!

I am new to this, or any othe PE forum for that matter. I feel it's time for me to share. I have had the lengthening/alloderm procedure done in 2005 by Dr. Rosenthal. I had excellent initial success (after initial retraction), but have seen a gradual degradation and perhaps some minor retraction. I am strongly considering PMMA to return my post op appearance, and am also considering a testicular enhancement, primarily the elist prosthesis- although I'm not a fan of his pricing. I was strongly considering his girth enhancement procedure (and have been for over a year now) until I began reading the posts here. I too was mislead by the MNS website, and found it to be biased. I am looking for to open discussion regarding my procedure results as well as looking for reassurance and answers regarding the other two procedures. That other new procedure also piques my interest (forgot the name ...it's another acronym), but it sounds experimental at this point. I would like to thank the administrator of this site (skeptical One) for creating a 'safe' environment for discussion, as I have been following these posts quietly for some time. I am open to answer questions, and hope to find answers. Thanks.

Rondo- do you mind commenting on your experience with Rosenthal? How do you feel about it overall. Was he good? A jerk? How about your results? Pre op stats and post op? Could you also comment on post op appearance and feeling of the graft? Sexual experiences? Sorry for all the questions but I have been considering going to him and need an honest opinion and some idea of what to expect. Do you know how many he has performed and what his complication rate is? Thanks!

I really want to get more info on these guys as I am considering surgery with one of them. Can those who have experience with one or the other comment? What is each doctor like? Is the office nice? what about the surgery? Was it done at a surgery center? Please comment on any good or bad things. Results, regrets, etc. Thanks

Dr Reed has been doing PE for a very long time, but I've never come across a patient who has had girth surgery with him. He must do alot, as Miami is a vein place and he's a surgeon with a good reputation, so it makes sense he'd have done a great many PE surgeries. But he's got a diverse practice and doesn't depend on this type of surgery for a living, which is probably why his work had never really been marketed on forums etc. It's a bit like Gary Alter. Everyone knows he's the guy to go to get fixed after a botched surgery, but considering how well known he is, there are very few guys who have ever posted about having an original PE surgery with him (he only does length now, but did girth for sometime aswell.) Both Alter and Reed offer a great deal more than PE surgery and thus really don't need people marketing them.
Dr Rosenthal is a tough one to work out. He has a very dodgy past. He was employed by the infamous Mel Rosenstien, who was known for butchering patients. Rosenthal performed surgeries for Rosenstien and enivetably there were many problems. But Rosenthal rightly points out, it wasn't his procedure, he was just a knife for hire. However, that doesn't mean he didn't have an ethical resposibility. If he knew Rosensteins procedure was a poor one, then he should have sought employment elsewhere.
However, he's since gone into practice on his own, doing his own type of surgery (he does Alloderm/Belloderm) and I can't really remember any horror stories. He obviously has his fair share of patients who aren't happy with their results, but that can be said of all surgeons. Yardstick, who posts here, is angry he lost length. I know two Arabic guys who say the graft absorbed to virtually nothing and there was another guy who posts here, who said he'd also seen his graft shrink. Despite this, he tells patients that he never loses length and the grafts will be permanent, so he does seem to be prepared to bend the truth. This ties in with his questionable choice of working for Rosenstein and shows is ethics maybe aren't what they should be. However, despite these flaws, i've read things that suggest he's caring surgeon, who always has time for his patients. It's better to have a liar, who will do his utmost to help you if you have problems, than a straight shooting surgeon, who doesn't give you the support you need post op. He's also had some good results. There are some very happy guys who post here and a guy called Soma who posts at Thundersplace.
Personally, my hunch would be to go to Dr Reed. The reason for this is that he's had an established practice in Miami for over 20 years. He also doesn't layer the alloderm, which Rosenthal does. All other surgeons seem to be crtitical of Rosenthal for doing this, as it is more likely to harvest an infection. But my hunch is of know use to you and you really should speak to each surgeon and make your own mind up. You can easily find good Rosenthal stories, but also some less pleasing one's (though as far as I remember no horror stories, other than when employed by Rosenstein.) So how do you decide who to listen to, the happy or sad patients? In the case of Reed it will be harder to find guys who have had surgery with him.

Is the office nice? what about the surgery? Was it done at a surgery center? Please comment on any good or bad things. Results, regrets, etc. Thanks The one guy that I know who went to Dr. Reed is Ken, the maker of the Trac-man: trac-man.comhis phone number is: 951-471-2626 He didn't have that good of results and wind up going to Rheinschild. However, Ken did say that since the time of his surgery with Reed, Dr. Reed has improved his surgical technique. Ken, the maker of the Trac-man, is NOT Ken Beaton. (I am not endorsing this device or rejecting it). As far as I can tell, Reed won't do dual augmentation. This may have changed and may need to be rechecked. Dr. Reed does lengthening first then has the patient stretch for at least 6 months to a 1 year, usually using thegrip, and then has the patient return to do girth surgery using either Belladerm and Alloderm. A common theme on this forum, is there is NO CONSENSUS on what the best PE surgery is. For example, Dan Levin's/Dr. Krakovsky's site downplays FFT: www.penisenlargementsurgeryinfo.com/fat-injection/www.penisenlargementsurgeryinfo.com/fat-fft/yet Dr. Giunta, who uses FFT with PRP, is against Alloderm: drgiunta.com/alloderm-phalloplasty.htmlOn Dan Levin's/Dr. Krakovsky's site, this picture is from Dr. Giunta's website: www.penisenlargementsurgeryinfo.com/site/largepics/770/112093/382240/523812/preop_postop.jpgbut I don't know if this is Dr. Giunta's patient, Dr. Morganstern's, or someone else: www.penisenlargementsurgeryinfo.com/site/largepics/770/112093/382242/523815/1:20:11_Lump.jpgHere you have two well known PE surgeon and they can't agree on FFT vs. Alloderm. The pictures here: www.penisenlargementsurgeryinfo.com/fat-injection/as idm suggested in one thread might be NOT FFT as that site says, but a bad Alloderm/Belladerm graft. As far as I can tell, idm seems to be pleased with his FFT with PRP from Dr. Giunta. No lumps/nodules or 'telescoping' appearance. But it would best if idm reaffirms this. Idm first got lengthening done first, but only gain ~0.75inches in length. Was Dr. Giunta not aggressive enough in cutting the suspensory ligament, or should idm stretched more, it's difficult to say. Idm, if you could reply and maybe give us an update on your healing, that would be great. Please check out idm's excellent post of his experience with Dr. Giunta here: phalloplasty.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=articles&action=display&thread=88&page=2I read somewhere maybe it was on the other site, that Alter and Giunta were not that aggressive in cutting the suspensory ligament, but Krakovsky, Reed, and Rosenthal are more aggressive in cutting this ligament. Guys, please ask questions and be skeptical of ALL PE SURGEONS AND PE TECHNIQUES! Be cautious of shills. This forum was created because of the censoring from that other site.

Responding to Donkey- I'll try and respond without using all that pe terminology which I've intentionally not learned so I don't become obsessive (sorry, just being honest). I had the surgery with Rosenthal mainly due to 'shrinkage'. I was ok with length, but not with girth- and I experienced horrible shrinkage. I love the water and spend lots of time in and on it (boating, scuba, swimming etc) so I was anxious to correct this. Initially I would put my pumped (I always measured in the tube to ensure good comparables, I guess this would be comparable to the 'bone press' thing) length at 6 1/2, and girth at 4.5-5. Flaccid length was as low as 3 1/2 when shrinkage struck. Really pissed me off. Only one anecdotal story here- I never had a problem with the ladies while 'in action', but one girlfriend caught me naked after swimming and taking some allergy meds (ephedrine.. instant shrivel crank), and her comment was "oh... it's looks just like a penis.. only smaller". Killed me. Surgery: Scary, but fine. No drama, all went well. Instant log in my pants. Doc was as expected. Recovery: typical. Initial overall length loss, although monster girth and now no more shrinkage!! I wound up after 6 months pushing 8" in lenth pumped (7 3/4") and filling the 2"diameter tube easily. I would measure 5.5-6 in girth. Now: I've slowly noticed some degradation and the alloderm feels... 'strappy'. I'm with the same girl for the last 5 years with no complaints or comments ... other than her initial ... joy . I still maintain 5-5.5" flaccid length but am now down to 4.5" flaccid and probably 5.5 max erect girth. The allo is not as pliable, and I also max out at 7 3/8 in the tube ( I still pump, which may be a concern with this PMMA stuff). Overall, I personally view this procedure as a good start, but not a permanent solution. I also think that once you start this journey, it's very easy to become overzealous or obsessive. I wish I was not now somewhat 'addicted' to pumping- because it makes me feel good about the way it looks afterward. If someone asked me if I would do it again, my answer: absolutely. Small price to pay to get rid of 'shrivel crank'. Hope that helps.

Rondo: Do you think pumping could have damaged your alloderm in anyway? cause ive heard from a few ppl that your not suppose to pump after getting alloderm.
Donkey: I had surgery with rosenthal last year and everything went well. his office was nice and busy and secretary was also quite friendly. He did the surgery in a very high end surgical center. He also drove me back to my hotel after surgery and drove me to the airport after my final consultation post surgery. To me he seemed like a really nice guy that cared about his patients. that was my experience...

im happy with the results. its very natural looking and feeling. I gained .7 of an inch in erect girth and about the same in erect length... If i was more dedicated to hanging i think i could have got better length gains, but im lazy with that stuff.

Response to Kingpin:
I don't believe pumping damages anything, as long as one doesn't exceed reasonable duration or pressure. To be clear, the 'degradation' I've experienced is not really noticeable- only to me over time. this may also be attributed to a natural aging process of the material itself... not unlike 'myself'; i.e., less collagen, skin elasticity, etc.
My gains appear to be very similiar to yours (kingpin). I, for one, find those gains satisfactory and reasonable. I strongly believe those looking for huge gains are only asking for implicit complications. Again, I would advocate the procedure with Rosenthal for those with reasonable expectations.
...and not to be a negative nancy, but I also had excellent results in the first year, in fact for the better part of four years. I started to notice some loss in girth and overall 'plump' appearance sometime thereafter. I'm hoping the degradation has made its course so to speak. I will also share an ongoing conversation I had with an individual who was a mentor of sorts- he had the surgery about a year prior to my decision to proceed (with his feedback). He had his procedure with Rheinschild (sp?). He had impressive initial gains (he had 'extra' put in). I spoke with him occasionally throughout the years. His initial gains and satisfaction where fantastic. He later professed it took on a 'strappy' feeling and compared it to a callous. He had less initial length and had more added, which may have led to that problem...?
Anyway, those are my two cents..
