Who do you think is a better PE doctor - Rosenthal or Reed? To me they seem like the two top PE doctors out there right now (at least the ones using Alloderm and/or Belladerm). Any thoughts?

Rosenthal has had more forum traffic (on MNS and others) if that counts for anything. Dr. Reed is more-or-less a sex change specialist hence his familiarity with PE. Correct me if I'm mistaken people.
Hard to say which is better, but I've read some decent topics on Rosenthal, not many at all on Reed.

I talked to Dr. R and he seems to be a straight shooter to an extent. I am considering Belladerm in place of my implant. I specifically drilled him about ERECT length increase from cutting the ligs and he confirmed my belief that it is very hard to gain any length in most cases but SOME people do get SOME length increase...

Mustang, have you been considering the removal of your current implant? I wasn't aware

There was some posts at MNS about length loss after Alloderm/Belladerm. Has anyone here gotten the dual augmentation with Dr. Rosenthal? Did he tell you stretch with the grip? If so, how soon after surgery and did this result in getting some length gains? Appreciate all comments about this.

Yes, I am considering removal, but I am concerned of retraction afterwards and that's why I am thinking Belladerm and a lig cut MAY restore my original Erect length.
I will be honest thu, the fantastic girth with the implant is so very hard to beat and I am almost sure if I end up w/Bella I may not be happy with the girth.....so it is a sticky situation. I have decided to give Dr. E one more chance to fix it else I'll do some thing else...

Make that three fresh Rosenthal patients as I'm 4 weeks post op with minimal lenght loss (currently 1/2 inch) and I haven't started stretching yet. Everything Dr R's told me so far has come to pass. Stay tuned to see if the erect lenght gains manifest as my skin stretches.

Soma, when are you going to start to stretch? How many days/weeks after surgery does Dr. Rosenthal tell patients to stretch? I think Dr. R recommends thegrip to stretch, correct?

Dr. Reed is definitely not just a sex change specialist, I had the enlargement surgery with him at least 13 years ago, he is actually one of the only Dr's I have met that will try and talk you down (i.e. go for less girth, perhaps go without the surgery all together, only promises modest gains with the length surgery and will absolutely not double-up on the alloderm/belladerm sheets for added girth because of infection. He also will not do length and girth surgery at the same time as it is ultimately bad for the patient.) Because he is so conservative I actually trust him a little more than a lot of the others.
p.s. I had the length and girth surgery about 13 years ago and after a year and a half of stretching I gained about an inch erect, but lost 1/4" eventually after I stopped stretching (ultimately went from 6 1/4" to 7" permanent length).
I had the dermal fat graft and loved it for many years - went from 5" at base to 7"; and 5" by the glans to 6 1/4 - 6 1/2". Over the course of time however (was OK for the first 8-9 years) the DFG have slowly hardened and contracted. Apparently it is called fibrosis and is common with the dfg. So i am going back to Reed eventually when I can afford it to take them out and trying to figure what to do next. After spending a lot of my adulthood with a 7x7" penis I do not want to go back to what I had before but have not figured out what to do about it.
Hope this helps anybody

Hunkydory, Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Seems you had some pretty good gains with the surgery. What did you use you stretch - thegrip or the trac-man? Perhaps someone can correct me, but I do not believe Dr. Reed using dermal grafts anymore, I think he is only using Alloderm/Belladerm.

Sheldon,
Yes, he recommend the grip and to start at 6 weeks post op. He recommend 1 hour per day and gradually increasing weight up past 6lbs, with most pt's hanging around 8lbs eventually. I don't anticipate a problem with this for me as I use to hang much more that that years ago.

Do you think hanging or pumping may help increase surgery chances of success due to the skin being already stretched a bit? Not sure, but in my case I think it helped. I pumped a few weeks b4 the implant and the penile skin never looked tight or dry...

mustang, I personally believe hanging, pumping, and other forms of manual PE could be very useful BEFORE a surgery since it not only stretches skin but may help condition your penis to tolerate a size gain. I'm not a physiological expert but I know some doctors recommend some form of stretching before and/or after surgery (Elist once recommended pumping before surgery to stretch the skin, not sure if he still does). and thanks hunkydory for clearing that up about Dr. Reed.

Absolutely Skeptical One, I wish there were people out there who had the alloderm years ago (I believe that he started using it the year after he did my surgery using DFG), who would talk about long term results. When I stretched I used the Grip but used it for 4 to 6 hours a day - I was a lot younger and a lot more ambitious then. (I also think it took all those hours, the length does not comes easily from what I have heard. I am sure I had more length in me too but I finally got bored or satisfied with the whole process and quit.)
Def. hang before surgery, the length of the graft the Dr. uses has to do with your pre-surgery erection length so any bit is going to help. Also I know Reed tried the silicone implants before he had surgery on me, that was like 14 years ago, and he had many bad complications so he quit.
