If anyone is curious about the suspensory ligament, you may want to watch a portion of Acland's Anatomy DVD, vol. 6.
Dr. Acland says on the video: "The penis passes through the scrotum between the two spermatic cords. The penis is loosely suspended in this location by this sling of connective tissue from the anterior abdominal wall, the suspensory ligament. Removing the suspensory ligament lets us see the front of the pubic symphysis. It's here. The penis is firmly attached to the sloping underside of the symphysis by this triangular ligament."
I viewed this in a hospital's library, and the suspensory ligament looks like a net, not like a smooth drape. Perhaps that is why when you hear that some PE surgeons are not that aggressive with cutting the suspensory ligament, they are not cutting all the 'netting' of the ligament.
I checked on youtube and they have some portions of Acland's anatomy DVD there, but not the section on the penis. I wonder if someone could borrow this DVD through an inter-library loan request and capture the section where Dr. Acland lectures on the penis and surrounding structures and post it on youtube. That would be helpful to the members of the forum here.
I think during PE lengthening surgery, the surgeon cuts both the fundiform and suspensory ligaments.
