Hi docsavage,
Have you been able to use your new unit yet? Just wondering if it made a difference pleasure wise for either you or your wife.

Unfortunately no use yet. I was home for about 2 1/2 weeks after procedure but I had to go out of town for an extended period before I hit the three-week mark. I will be back home in about three weeks so hopefully I will get lucky soon thereafter. I will file a report with you guys when it happens.

docsavage, did the doctor recommend 3 weeks or did you set that for yourself? What did the doctor say about how long you can wait till sex?

S. O.-sorry for the delay in responding.
Dr. C did not specify any length of time before having sex. Just said whenever I felt "up" to it. I had read someone else mention three weeks on this forum and it sounded like a good idea to me. Since this was my first procedure I wanted to be careful and allow adequate healing time.

I think we should all be researching the time it takes for most of the carrier collagen to be replaced and based on that finding we should establish an approximate time to be able to re-engage in sex or any activity that would force the penis to move or experience friction.

sparticus & Docsavage The penis is massaged periodically after the procedure if I'm not mistaken, so I'm not sure that the act of friction alone is of concern, no?

I'm not sure. I would think friction would spread the beads around and increase the risk of migrating them to other areas. The massage is probably to prevent the beads from congregating.

I was under the impression that the massaging was to help smooth out shaft, not necessarily prevent migration of PMMA... and I'd imagine that massaging the shaft puts more stress on the pmma than intercourse, but that's just speculation. Of course, one should not have sex prematurely until either A) they are completely healed and/or B) follow the doctor's recommendation(s).

SO
No, I'm not saying the massage is recommended to prevent bead migration. Doing the massage is an example that the beads can be displaced through friction during the time period before the carrier is replaced by the body's collagen. The reason they do the massage is to prevent bead aggregation by moving/spreading them out. I would just be careful during that time period because you would not want beads getting shifted too far, which may occur during sex or masturbation.

Had PMMA procedure #2 with Dr. Casavantes today. He injected 14cc of 0.20% PMMA. Everything went well. This time was a little more uncomfortable than the first, but certainly tolerable. Have some bruising but not as much as before.
Again, I cannot emphasize how great Dr. C, Wade, Mel, Christian, and the rest of the crew are. They make what is certainly a very personal and potentially embarrassing procedure a comfortable and reassuring process. The whole bunch are very friendly and professional and that gives me a great sense of confidence.
Dr. C did something a little different with the left side of the ring. He injected a very small amount of Kenalog (a corticosteroid) and 5FU (an old chemotherapy drug) into the left side (which protruded more than the right) to reduce the size of the ring on that side. It will take several days to notice a difference; I will monitor and let you guys know.

I forgot to mention earlier that, although it is a little sore, it feels good and heavy. Like I have finally got something down there LOL!
