51yo male......at this late stage in life i feel i need to have some type of surgery. I am thinking of the Elist implants because of the instant girth gains......any thoughts

It is the best choice for instant girth gains but it has a lot of problems. Many people had it removed and few have kept it. Check with Dr. Elist and ask if has chenged his procedures. I have one and it is still painful at the glans area and I lost over an inch of erect length. The girth is great and my penis would look very good if I get back to over 6 inch erect length...

ccwbar, if you are comfortable please share with us your starting dimensions (especially erect dimensions).
I've been looking at both Elist implant and FFT (probably Giunta since I'm east coast). The Elist implant does provide significant girth gains, but the concept "big yields = big risks" is very true in this case. You have to really examine the risk-benefit cost in your own case, everyone's case is unique. I believe stalemango has already posted pictures of his Elist prosthesis procedure on this forum, and I personally like the outcome.
FFT is what I'm leaning toward right now simply because its the safest (albeit no method is actually "safe") of all the techniques out right now. It uses your own (fat) cells so it poses the least risk of rejection among all surgical options. It's also the the least expensive of all the options, simply because fat-harvesting & injection is a common plastic surgery practice in other parts of the body. The biggest problem with FFT is that it has risk of re-absorption which could lead to lumpy, artificial looking penises. I'm leaning toward FFT because there has been significant improvements with how FFT is done. Informeddecisionmaker of MNS forums strongly supports the staged-FFT method which he had done, and I can see why. The idea is that the doctor gives you smaller injections over 2-3 procedures (spread over months) rather than just one big injection. Supposedly your fat survives better with smaller injections because it makes it easier to develop tissue/nerves/circulation.
While I remain leaning toward FFT, I'm keeping the Elist (or any other method for that matter) open if it can be seen in the next year or two of making vast improvements in its overall success rate. Ideally Elist implant would be my first choice if it was proven to be safer and more effective than it is considered to be today.

skep one.......this is what i have to work with..........my erect length is 8in.......i am 5in in girth just behind the gland......up to aound 5.5in girth at the base........long and skinny......i have talked with dr elist on the phone. He seems to be nice and has answered the questions that had while on the phone. I was told by him to purchase a pump to help make the skin a little more relaxed for surgery. can anyone recommend a good pump that will do this.

wow cc! you got a nice package, i wouldn't call anything 5"+ girth as "skinny"... because if you are skinny I wonder what that makes me!? LOL
As far as pumps are concerned, it wouldn't hurt to check out "thundersplace.com" (not a commercial site, purely a manual penis exercise resource website) they have a lot of great resources on effective pumps and pumping techniques.
i also planned to pump prior to any surgery I have down the road, since I can see how it may aid in stretching your skin's elasticity for more effective volume gain.

ccwbar Don't get the implant; the complication rate is just great. The girth increase of 2 inches is certainly tempting but at the end of the day, the risk is just too great. And if it does have to be removed, you could be looking at a 1 inch to 3 inch loss of length.. There are success stories out there though…and if you are like I was, you will be paying more attention to them. Just be prepared, it may not end up a happy ending…and wind up one of the worst mistakes of your life.

I agree with messageman, mostly on the grounds of risk-benefit comparison.
I think at your size you may be better off trying manual penis exercises to see if you can get gains in that department (some men report obtaining modest girth gains via routine pumping, jelqing, and/or clamping).
If I had your size, I personally wouldn't seek surgery, but to each his own. As long as you conduct extensive research both through your doctor and these resource forums, you will be best prepared to make the best decision. It's also important to remember that you should keep your expectations realistic and assume all risks and worst-case scenarios before going under the knife.
Please keep us informed on your plans!

Since you are truly well endowed, but wish for some added girth for personal reasons, I recommend FFT OR manual PE.
That is because if you are going to go the surgical route, commit to the one that's the least invasive. FFT has its pros & cons but you could realistically achieve a 6 inch girth after one or two sessions. You are too big to do anything too drastic, so implants (etc) would be over-doing it in my humble opinion.
Manual PE is something that many report girth gains with. As long as you commit to it in the long term and are performing the methods correctly, there is a chance you could see some gains. Manual PE resources are found both at our Non-Surgical forum as well as Thunder's Place (dot com).
